<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">The BBC commissioned some in-depth research into television audiences, and split the audience into demographics based on viewing habits and lifestyle. TCA was asked to bring these audience demographics to life in six films.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">We created 6 vignettes that encapsulated the audience groups in a bold yet quirky style, but with an eye on delivering the key segment messages.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">One of the key challenges of the project was getting the good performances form the six people who represented the demographics and also setting up a workflow that allowed us to deliver an ambitious visual style in time and on budget.</span></p>

Each story reflects aspects of the Universities “Designed for Life” post-grad courses and stand the test of being entertaining and engaging.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">The initial series rollout involved a multiplatform strategy, including website development, a video series for online distribution,  a targeted Facebook campaign, television commercials, and tailored live-event screening versions. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">The content gained over 12000 views over a 5-week period</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">The next set of stories are currently in production and we are looking forward to being able to share them.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">To mark the 20</span><sup><span style="font-family: Arial;">th</span></sup><span style="font-family: Arial;"> anniversary of the iconic Australian film Strictly Ballroom, which started Baz Luhrmanns career, Bazmark commissioned TCA to produce “Strictly Ballroom: Stage to Screen. The 30-min documentary tells the story of films humble beginnings as a drama-school play and its path to the buying frenzy it kicked off at Cannes.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">To produce the doco, from interviews with Baz, Catherine Martin and the producers to final delivery, we had 7 days. An awful lot of hard work, some very long hours and great dedication from the team over the week delivered a film we are all very proud of.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">The highlight of the project was the daily screenings with Baz, and the little nuggets of story structuring, characterization and timing gold we picked up from him.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">The final film appeared as a DVD extra on the 20</span><sup><span style="font-family: Arial;">th</span></sup><span style="font-family: Arial;"> Anniversary DVD </span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Macario De Souza and Mick Lawrence, co-director and producer of Bra Boys, Australia’s most successful feature-length documentary, returned to cinemas with Fighting Fear. Fighting Fear followed the fortunes of friends, big-wave surfer Mark Matthews and UFC fighter Richie Vas, as they struggle to escape the seemingly pre-ordained paths of drinking, fighting, gangs, prison and injury.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We produced the trailer for Bra Boys several years ago and so were really pleased to work with Mick and Macca on this film. The trailer is epic, but story-led and sells the movie as more than a surfing and fighting movie. It makes great use of some of the unique phantom footage of huge breaks off Tasmania.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Online the trailer has done fantastically well with 200,000 views on youtube.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">We’ve been working with the team at Hopscotch Films since they started up in 2002, and it’s been great to be part of their huge success and growth.  Every year we have created a showreel for them for the Australian movie industry conference on the Gold Coast, starting out with a very modest 5 min affair quite a few years ago.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">In 2011 Hopscotch were acquired by E-One, and they were suddenly one of the big boys. And with that comes a one-hour presentation slot at the Australian Movie Convention. So in 2011 we produced over 40 mins of content, including a 6-min 3D epic to tell the Hopscotch story.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">We shot interviews with the cast and director of The Sapphires, and th</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;">e director of  Sundance-nominated Wish You Were Here and Taylor Hackford, who’s directing Jason Statham in Parker later this year.  We found creative ways to bring to life whatever stills we could find to illustrate the story of films that are still in pre-production. And we pulled it all together with beautiful, stand-out design and sound design. The reel was screened digitally via the D-Cinema process with 5.1 audio.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Creating the AIMC reel is a real high point in the year for us, because of the cre</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial;">ative freedom and the opportunities it gives us to stretch ourselves. It also helps that Hopscotch are great to work with.  The reel in 2010 was nominated for a Promax too…which is nice.</span></p>

We produced a series of 12 stories showcasing Adelaide in the students own words. Each film is idiosyncratic and full of character. We worked very hard to get great performances from the students and used a quirky and eye-catching visual style to inject some fun into the films.</span></p>
